Why I’m Transparent About My Fees

Can I be honest for a second? Searching for a therapist or coach is hard. It takes vulnerability, persistence, and trust just to begin the process. I want to honor that effort by being upfront from the start, starting with my fees.

It’s already hard enough to find a provider, only to squeeze your story into a 10-15 minute consultation, hoping you’ll be able to afford the care you need. That’s why I believe in putting everything on the table upfront.

Talking about money is uncomfortable for everyone. Many people ask about sliding scale spots before even knowing my standard fees. It’s easy to assume care is out of reach when there’s no clarity around pricing, but that’s why I believe transparency is essential. Knowing the cost ahead of time lets you make an informed decision without unnecessary stress, helping us avoid awkward conversations about money and ensuring we’re aligned from the start.

boundaries In Practice

One supervisor once called me “greedy” and “anti-community” for charging a no-show fee, even after a client missed three sessions and I didn’t charge for the first two. She told me my actions didn’t align with community care. Meanwhile, that same supervisor who set the no-show fee paid me less than 30% of the session fee she charged my clients.

That experience taught me the importance of clear boundaries and valuing the work I do. Being transparent about fees isn’t just about numbers—it’s about starting with mutual respect and shared expectations.

Living the Values I Teach

Being upfront about fees is one way I ensure I can show up fully for you. When expectations are clear from the start, our work together can be intentional, focused, and meaningful. Transparency allows us to build a strong foundation, with both of us knowing exactly what to expect from the relationship.

Time is one of our most precious resources. I believe it’s worth maximizing. That doesn’t mean every moment has to be productive, but it does mean our work together should never feel counterproductive. Transparency around fees is one way I safeguard that.

Let’s Align and Get Started

You deserve care that feels supportive, respectful, and aligned from the start. Let’s make sure we’re a good fit financially, relationally, and practically, so that our time together is meaningful and intentional.

Working with me is an investment, a wise one, and still an investment. I’m committed to ensuring that investment pays off. If my fees align with your budget and the care you’re seeking, let’s set up a consultation and begin your journey.
